The origin of the name Sidi l’Houari:

The Ksar Sidi l’Houari is placed between the Zaouïa (a complex of buildings for Sufi ceremonies) with the same name and the tomb of its founder, a holly personality who came from Oran in the begin of the 19^th century. The inhabitants speak Arabic and consider themselves as descendents of this Saint. In the Zaouïa, recognizable by its elegant minaret made of soil, we find a mausoleum, a Koran school, a mosque and an old library. They celebrate an important Sufi music festival once a year.
