The origin of the name Sat:

Located in the extreme south of the oasis of Ferkla, Sat is a group of three Ksars. One of them includes an ancient Jewish quarter. The population consists of many different Berber tribes, some with sedentary tradition; other ones have nomad roots and arrived in the 19.th century from the High Atlas. In springtime there is a Gnaoua music festival in Sat, close to the shrine of Sidi Abdellah.
